Under the term "owl," we find, therefore, the clawless Strigidae (clumps of feathers that give the impression of ears or horns) and the Tytonidae. The term "owl" is said to derive from the Old French "choue," supposedly from the Old Low Frankish "kawa" and the diminutive suffix "-ette," and shares the same etymology as the term "jackdaw," a corvid. The same root seems to be found in many Northern European languages, such as the Norwegian "kaie."
In Greek mythology, Athena is the goddess of artists, craftsmen, and artisans. She is also the protector of family health and the goddess of war (in a world where war is omnipresent, she represents more the art of protecting oneself and anticipating future battles than the art of combat itself, embodied by Ares).
