Herbal tinctures are made by steeping an herb in an alcoholic solution (usually pure alcohol) for a period of 4-6 weeks.
During this, the active ingredients of the herb dissolve in the alcoholic solution resulting in the tincture being created.
Tinctures are much more active than infusions and decoctions.
